Project overview
Drill Bit Warehouse sells everything from high speed steel and cobalt bits to step bits, core bits, cutters and burrs. We designed and built the WordPress store so each buyer can find the exact bit quickly and order with confidence.
Business challenge
Hundreds of sizes, materials and coatings had to stay easy to browse. Locksmiths, carpenters and machinists shop differently, regular buyers needed fast, low-friction ordering, and the store had to show American manufacturing and standards.
Goals and requirements
Organize the catalog the way buyers think
Meet each trade where it works
Reduce clicks between search and cart
Back up the product with knowledge
Proposed solution
Top-level departments break down by material and type, and a second path organizes products across ten industries. A full-screen search overlay, quick view and add-to-cart buttons on listings let repeat buyers build an order without opening every product page. A wholesale page, order tracking, a drill sizing chart and technical content turn the catalog into a trusted source.
Implementation process
01
A catalog organized the way buyers think
Clear departments in the main menu, material and type sub-categories, and a dedicated closeouts section.
02
Meet each trade where it works
Ten industry entry points and product ranges grouped by use, so buyers who do not know the exact bit can start from their job.
03
Reduce clicks between search and cart
Search overlay on every page, quick view and add to cart on listings, and the minimum order shown up front.
04
Back up the product with knowledge
Wholesale page, order tracking, drill sizing chart, technical drilling data and a blog.
